Modern University Pool Plunge Pool

This compact backyard in University Park demonstrates how thoughtful landscape design can transform a limited footprint into a vibrant private resort. Every design decision focused on maximizing usable space while creating a luxurious outdoor experience centered around recreation, relaxation, and color.

The custom plunge pool and elevated spa were carefully proportioned to provide multiple experiences within a modest courtyard. A generous tile-clad beam surrounds the spa, serving as both convenient access and comfortable seating just above the waterline where guests can relax while remaining connected to the activity in the pool. The pool interior was intentionally finished in a light tone, allowing sunlight to create brilliant shades of blue that complement the richly colored mosaic tile and reinforce the fresh, coastal character of the space.

Limited deck area was curated rather than crowded. Every piece of poolside furniture was selected around the homeowners' lifestyle, creating intimate lounging areas that flow naturally from the adjacent covered veranda. Colorful resort-style umbrellas introduce another layer of visual energy while providing welcome shade and strengthening the cheerful vacation atmosphere.

Layered evergreen plantings soften the surrounding architecture and create privacy without overwhelming the courtyard, allowing the water to remain the focal point. The result is a highly functional outdoor living environment where every square foot contributes to entertaining, relaxation, and everyday enjoyment.
