Colleyville Landscape Architect

Large-lot and acreage estates in northeast Tarrant County. Semi-rural scale, custom homes, some with horses.

Colleyville is northeast Tarrant County at its most residential. The lots are genuinely large. Acreage parcels. Semi-rural character that residents are actively protecting. Some properties include equestrian facilities. The work here doesn't translate from a fifty-foot Dallas infill lot and we don't try to make it.

You're not designing a back yard in Colleyville. You're designing the land around a custom home, which is a different conversation. Where the pool sits in relation to the house. How the entry drive reads from the road. Where the land transitions from maintained landscape to the natural edge of the parcel. Those decisions require a site plan that looks at the whole property, not just the zone behind the back door.

Custom homes here span the range: traditional French and Georgian estates, Mediterranean, Hill Country, transitional. Each one drives its own vocabulary. Stone patios and formal planting on a Georgian estate. Limestone terracing and native grasses on a Hill Country build. Stucco walls and Italian cypress where the architecture calls for it. We don't have a Colleyville style. We design to the house in front of us.

Tarrant County clay is heavy. It moves. Hardscape base preparation and drainage planning are non-negotiable on every project regardless of lot size, and on acreage parcels where water can travel significant distances across a site, that planning gets more detailed. We scale the drainage infrastructure to the property.

City of Colleyville permitting applies. Some subdivisions carry HOA review. We confirm what's required at project setup and build the timeline from there. Tree protection requirements apply on lots with established canopy, which is common given how long custom homes have been going up in this part of Tarrant County.

Full estate projects here frequently cover the complete scope: pool and spa, covered outdoor living, hardscape, extensive garden and planting work, entry features, and canopy planning across the full parcel. We deliver design-build with our own crew alongside trusted trade partners we've worked with for years.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you design for two-acre or larger parcels?

Yes. Large-lot work is a regular part of our practice. The design addresses the full parcel, entry sequence included, not just the pool and patio.

What about properties with equestrian areas?

We design the residential landscape in context with the broader site. That includes drainage management near barn and pasture areas and thoughtful transitions between formal and working zones.

How long does a full Colleyville estate project take?

Nine to eighteen months for comprehensive scope. Focused projects, a pool and hardscape without full estate planting, run three to six months.
