Bent Tree Organic Modern Renovation North Dallas

Located within the prestigious Bent Tree community of North Dallas, this Organic Modern renovation was conceived as a complete reinvention of an early contemporary residence while respecting its architectural history. Rather than replacing the home, the owners embraced its character and commissioned Original Landscape Concepts to create a timeless estate garden that feels modern, artistic, and deeply connected to the surrounding landscape.

The arrival sequence introduces charcoal Lueders stone, Tejas Black aggregate, smooth architectural concrete, and sculptural Corten steel planters overflowing with curated succulent collections, Whale Tongue Agaves, and seasonal color. These strong material contrasts establish an earthy modern palette that carries throughout the property.

A signature feature is the rectangular koi pond positioned within the creek overlook. Inspired by Pacific Northwest gardens, the pond is framed by large-format stone, elevated tiled walls, and contemporary triangular scuppers that create gentle water movement, reflection, and soothing white noise. An elevated beam allows visitors to comfortably interact with the koi while enjoying expansive views beyond.

Blue Atlas Cedars, Japanese Maples, ornamental grasses, evergreen structure, and layered perennial plantings soften the modern architecture while reinforcing the home's organic character. Landscape lighting transforms the estate after dark by highlighting specimen trees, sculptural plantings, architectural walls, and water features.

This project demonstrates how thoughtful landscape design can completely transform an established luxury property in Bent Tree without losing its history, creating a refined outdoor environment that is distinctive, enduring, and uniquely North Dallas.
