'Baja' Modern Cantera Pool in North Dallas

Located in Preston Hollow, one of North Dallas' most distinguished residential neighborhoods, this contemporary estate landscape design was created to complement a newly constructed custom home inspired by the refined architecture of Baja Mexico.

Designed and built by Original Landscape Concepts, this luxury outdoor living environment balances modern simplicity with warm natural materials, creating a private resort-like retreat within the heart of Dallas. A defining feature is the estate-scale privacy wall constructed from large-format natural stone, helping buffer street noise while creating a sense of enclosure and tranquility.

Throughout the property, premium Cantera stone decking reinforces the warm, sophisticated material palette while providing a durable surface for outdoor entertaining. At the center of the design is a custom modern swimming pool composition inspired by contemporary Baja estates. The pool and submerged spa were intentionally designed as a unified visual element.

A prominent architectural feature is an elevated asymmetrical tile-clad water wall with precision-engineered water sconces that deliver equidistant sheets of flowing water into the main pool. Adjacent to the pool, an elongated modern glass fire feature serves as one of the garden's signature gathering spaces. A custom L-shaped seat wall and integrated bench system surrounds the fire element, creating comfortable conversation areas while avoiding visual clutter.

At the far end of the pool, an oversized resort-style umbrella anchors a dedicated lounge area. Beyond the pool deck, a carefully positioned turf meadow creates a flexible open space for family recreation, intimate gatherings, and larger outdoor events.
