Luxury Tropical Atrium Pool & Spa in North Dallas

This custom tropical courtyard retreat was created for another exceptional Sharif-Munir residence in North Dallas, where the architecture presented an uncommon design challenge. Rather than a single expansive backyard, the home organized its outdoor living into two compact courtyard spaces separated by the residence itself. Original Landscape Concepts transformed these disconnected areas into one immersive aquatic experience through thoughtful landscape architecture, luxury pool design, and smooth visual composition.

The solution was an elongated tropical water garden beginning with an intimate spa tucked into a private courtyard before gently cascading into a winding stream that flows naturally toward a lagoon-inspired swimming pool. The movement of water visually connects both outdoor rooms, creating the feeling of one continuous destination while introducing the calming sound and motion of flowing water throughout the home.

Windmill Palms were carefully positioned in triangulated groupings to preserve open sightlines while creating layered tropical canopies overhead. Their elegant forms soften the surrounding limestone architecture, introduce filtered shade across the courtyards, and establish the feeling of a mature tropical resort despite the compact footprint.

A rich blue-gray interior pool finish was selected to provide dramatic contrast against the warm natural stone architecture and sunlit paving. Native boulders, lush evergreen plantings, tropical foliage, and finely layered groundcovers soften every pool edge, blurring the transition between architecture and landscape while creating a timeless, natural appearance.

Every detail was designed to maximize luxury outdoor living within limited space. The result is an intimate private retreat that feels expansive through carefully orchestrated views, layered planting, water movement, and thoughtful spatial design.
